**Shweta Tripathi Begins Shooting for ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ in Varanasi**

Actor Shweta Tripathi has commenced shooting for *Mirzapur: The Film* in Varanasi, as reported by Mid-Day. The film is an extension of the popular Prime Video series *Mirzapur*, and the cast includes Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Rasika Dugal, directed by Gurmmeet Singh.
Speaking about her character Golu Gupta, Tripathi expressed a deep connection with the city. She called Varanasi her “second home,” explaining that much of Golu’s journey—her transformation, pain, and strength—is deeply rooted in the city. She described Golu as a companion who has lived many lives through the seasons.
Tripathi’s bond with Varanasi goes beyond her role in *Mirzapur*. She shared, “So many of my milestones are connected to this city. From *Masaan* to *Mirzapur*’s first and second seasons, and projects like *Escaype Live* and *Kaalkoot*, every project here has given me something unforgettable.”
Having portrayed Golu since the first season of *Mirzapur* premiered in 2018, Tripathi finds the transition to the big screen both challenging and rewarding. “To bring her to the big screen is both challenging and rewarding because the stakes feel higher—not just for her but for the world of *Mirzapur* itself. Doing that in Varanasi, where it all began, feels right,” she explained.
The filming of *Mirzapur: The Film* in Varanasi marks an exciting new chapter for the beloved series and its characters, promising to bring the intense world of Mirzapur to a broader audience on the big screen.
