**Shweta Tripathi Begins ‘Mirzapur the Film’ Shoot in Varanasi**

Actor Shweta Tripathi has joined the shoot of *Mirzapur: The Film* in Varanasi, as reported by Mid-Day. Tripathi, who plays the character Golu Gupta, shared her deep connection with the city, calling it her “second home.” She explained that much of Golu’s journey—her transformation, pain, and strength—is deeply rooted in Varanasi. Describing Golu, Tripathi said she is like a companion who has lived many lives through changing seasons.
Tripathi’s bond with Varanasi extends beyond *Mirzapur*. She noted, “So many of my milestones are connected to this city. From *Masaan* to the first and second seasons of *Mirzapur*, from *Escaype Live* to *Kaalkoot*, every project here has given me something unforgettable.”
Currently, Tripathi is shooting the film adaptation of Prime Video’s popular web series *Mirzapur* in Varanasi, alongside co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Rasika Dugal. The film is being directed by Gurmmeet Singh.
Having portrayed Golu since the original web series premiered in 2018, Tripathi finds bringing the character to the big screen both challenging and rewarding. “To bring her to the big screen is both challenging and rewarding because the stakes feel higher not just for her but for the world of *Mirzapur* itself,” she revealed. She added, “Doing that in Varanasi, where it all began, feels right.”
