Cardi B is letting off some steam. In a Spaces session on X on Monday, January 5, the “I Like It” rapper responded strongly to a fan who allegedly suggested she get off social media and “act like a celebrity,” according to a fan recording of the session.
In the recording, Cardi, 33, can be heard saying, “I gotta express myself. When I express myself, I feel way much motherf**king better.” She added, “The f? Let me cope, b***h. The f? Are you this motherf**king famous, b***h? Talk to me when you this motherf**king famous, b***h.”
Cardi (born Belcalis Almánzar) then told listeners that when they have “this type of motherf**king fame” and “money,” they could “talk to me.” She emphasized, “Don’t tell me how to motherf**king feel. The f? B***h, you ain’t in my motherf**king shoes.”
This Spaces session came just days after Cardi addressed the backlash she’s been receiving about her relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs in a lengthy X video posted on December 29.
“Y’all need to calm down,” she said in the video. “Is y’all cool? Y’all been dragging me for three or four days and y’all been a little bit too mean. Like alright now. Y’all being a little bit too mean.”
Cardi continued, “I can’t change s***. I can’t go back in time. I already had a baby. Y’all want me to put my baby back in my p***y? Huh? I don’t know what y’all want me to do. Y’all want me to leave my man and f*** yours?”
She added, “The only option is to go forward now.”
One day after Cardi posted the video, Stefon Diggs, 32, was accused of assaulting his female chef and was subsequently arrested. According to a copy of a police report obtained by PEOPLE, Diggs is accused of slapping and then choking the woman at his Massachusetts home on the night of December 2.
The New England Patriots receiver is facing a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault. He is due to appear in Dedham District Court for arraignment on these charges on January 23.
However, Diggs’ attorney David Meier told PEOPLE that he “categorically denies the allegations. They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated because they did not occur. The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction,” he said.
Diggs and Cardi welcomed their first baby together, a boy, in November. At the time, Cardi’s representative told PEOPLE that she was “healthy and happy.”
In her December 29 video, Cardi also expressed her stress about upcoming commitments, saying, “I have so much work to do once January starts, that is stressing me out. I need my support system, my fans, to love me.”
She urged her followers, “I want you to come to my tour and enjoy yourself with me. Don’t be dragging me. It’s enough, alright, it’s enough.”
