**November Employment Report Shows Modest Job Gains and Rising Unemployment Rate**
The latest employment report revealed that 64,000 jobs were added in November, rebounding from a loss of 105,000 in October. This increase exceeded expectations, as analysts had predicted an addition of approximately 50,000 jobs.
Despite the job gains, the unemployment rate rose to 4.6% in November, marking its highest level since September 2021. This figure was also slightly above the anticipated rate of 4.5%.
Total nonfarm payroll employment showed little overall change in November, with a net gain of 64,000 jobs. Since April, employment levels have remained relatively steady with minimal net change. The 12-month moving average for job growth currently stands at 78,000, the lowest level recorded since the initial aftermath of the pandemic.
These figures suggest a cooling labor market amid ongoing economic uncertainties.
