Boston Police officers arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly possessing a firearm illegally Saturday night in Roxbury. Keith Woods, of Boston, was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification card, and resisting arrest. Officers arrested Woods after approaching a vehicle they said turned without using a signal at about 10: 49 p. m. in the area around Blue Hill Avenue and Alaska Street. Initially, police spoke to the vehicle’s two occupants from their patrol car, but when the officers stepped out of their cruiser, the occupants allegedly ran from the scene. One suspect was promptly stopped and later released, but Woods crouched behind a vehicle and tossed something underneath, police said. After more officers responded to the scene, police were able to handcuff Woods. Beneath the vehicle, they found a Ruger LCP 380, which they believe Woods placed there. The gun had one shell casing in its chamber and six rounds in its magazine. Woods was arrested and will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
