**19-Year-Old Engineering Student in Hyderabad Allegedly Dies by Suicide Following Harassment Over Financial Dispute**
A 19-year-old engineering student from Adilabad allegedly died by suicide in Hyderabad after facing harassment related to a financial dispute, according to police and reports from news agency PTI.
The student’s body was discovered in his room at a private hostel in Narapally on Sunday night. Authorities have confirmed that ragging was not involved in the case.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the student, along with a group of friends, had visited a bar. An argument broke out over splitting the bill, leading to a physical altercation. The student was reportedly assaulted by some local youths.
In a video purportedly recorded before his death, the victim stated that several individuals demanded money from him and insulted him. He also claimed that they threatened and assaulted him. According to reports, he was taken to a bar against his will, forced to consume alcohol, and made to pay a bill of Rs 10,000.
Following a complaint filed by the student’s father, the police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, citing abetment of suicide and extortion. Investigations are ongoing.

**29-Year-Old Teacher in Telangana Dies by Suicide After Alleged Harassment by Colleagues**
In a related incident, a 29-year-old teacher at a private school in Telangana allegedly died by suicide at her home after being harassed by two male colleagues, PTI reported, quoting police sources.
The incident took place on September 19. The teacher’s husband lodged a complaint with the Adibatla Police Station, stating that the two male colleagues had been harassing and behaving indecently toward his wife, which led to her tragic decision.
The victim, a science teacher originally from Assam, was reportedly married to her husband through a love marriage eight years ago. The couple had moved from Assam to Hyderabad.
According to the complaint filed on September 20, the husband was in Assam for business when he was informed about his wife’s death by the police. He alleged that the harassment had been ongoing for six months and that he had confronted the two colleagues over the phone previously. However, the harassment reportedly worsened after he left for Assam on September 15.
Based on the husband’s complaint, the police registered a case of abetment of suicide against the two teachers, who have since been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway.
