PHOENIX — Police and federal agents returned to Nancy Guthrie’s house on Wednesday to continue the search related to the disappearance of the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie.
The renewed search follows the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s announcement on Tuesday that investigative teams had processed the scene both inside and outside the residence. At that time, authorities declared the scene clear and returned the home to the Guthrie family.
According to sources who spoke with ABC, the FBI has deployed additional experts to assist in the investigation. A supervisor will lead a task force comprising specialists in areas such as hostage negotiation, data storage systems and networks, and the security of digital devices.
As of Wednesday evening, there are still no suspects or persons of interest. Detectives continue to interview anyone who may have had contact with Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen at her home in Tucson on Saturday night near Skyline Drive and Campbell Avenue.

A person familiar with the investigation informed The Associated Press that Guthrie’s Tucson home, located in the Catalina Foothills, showed signs of forced entry. Authorities believe she was taken from her home against her will, possibly during the overnight hours, although there is no credible evidence to suggest the disappearance was a targeted incident.
On Tuesday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that crime-scene evidence is now being analyzed by laboratories and technology partners.
