The Srinagar Police on Saturday attached a three-storey house worth around 2 crore rupees linked to the family of designated terrorist Sajad Ahmad Sheikh, alias Sajad Gul. This action is part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks and disrupt their financial structures in Kashmir.
The property, situated on 15 marlas of land at Rose Avenue in HMT, Khushipora, was registered under Gul’s father, Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh. Investigations revealed that Sajad Gul used the house for terror-related activities despite it being registered in his father’s name.
### Legal Proceedings and Property Attachment
The attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This move follows an FIR registered at Parimpora Police Station under various sections of both the UAPA and the Explosives, Inflammable Substances, and Offensive Weapons (EIMCO) Act. The entire procedure was conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.
### Role of Sajad Gul in Terrorism
Authorities stated that Sajad Gul played a significant role in spreading anti-India propaganda, inciting violence, and facilitating terrorism through online networks and social media platforms. The police emphasized that this action is part of a larger campaign aimed at choking the financial and logistical infrastructure supporting terrorism in Kashmir.
The Srinagar Police also issued a stern warning that anyone supporting or abetting terrorism will face strict legal consequences, including the attachment and forfeiture of properties acquired through unlawful means.
