Siddhartha Sharma, the long-time manager of acclaimed Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, has finally spoken out after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) recently conducted a raid at his residence.

In a detailed statement posted on Facebook, Sharma addressed several concerns regarding the ownership of Garg’s extensive music catalog and clarified details surrounding the ongoing investigation.

### Ownership of Zubeen Garg’s Music

Sharma revealed that the majority of Zubeen Garg’s impressive collection of approximately 38,000 recorded tracks are owned by various production houses and music companies. He explained that most of the singer’s biggest hits were created before Sharma began managing him.

According to Sharma, Garg often expressed frustration about being shortchanged financially. “Producers and labels earned crores while he received only modest payments,” Sharma stated. He emphasized that this information can be independently verified with the companies holding the rights.

### Formation of an LLP

In 2021, Zubeen Garg established a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) to secure ownership rights over some of his later works. Sharma disclosed that the LLP has generated only a modest income—just a few thousand rupees monthly—which remains untouched in the company’s account.

“Zubeen da owned 60% of the firm,” Sharma added, “and I consider it my duty to ensure that his family rightfully inherits this stake.”

### Refuting Rumors and Cooperating with the SIT

Sharma strongly denied rumors alleging that he exploited Garg’s trust or mishandled his finances. He called such claims “baseless and deeply hurtful” and affirmed his full cooperation with the Special Investigation Team probing the singer’s untimely death.

He urged fans and the public to refrain from spreading misinformation, stating, “Let the investigation proceed without fear or prejudice. We owe it to Zubeen da’s memory to pursue truth with dignity.”

### SIT Raid at Sharma’s Residence

The manager’s statement comes shortly after the SIT raided his home in Guwahati’s Datalpara area on Friday morning. Officials reportedly waited outside the locked apartment for nearly two hours before breaking the lock in the presence of a magistrate to conduct their search.

Zubeen Garg tragically passed away on September 19, 2025, in Singapore following a drowning incident. The ongoing investigation continues to seek clarity regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
