Nashik: Terror Grips City After Two Youths Murdered Within 12 Hours

The city has been shaken by the murders of two youths within just 12 hours, raising concerns among residents during the festive season.

The first incident occurred on Thursday night in Satpur’s Shramiknagar area. A youth named Jagdish, also known as Bhaiya Wankhede and a resident of Shramiknagar, was killed with a sharp weapon by a gang over a minor issue. Jagdish was returning home on a two-wheeler with a friend after playing Garba when a group of eight to ten assailants stopped his vehicle at Swami Samarth Chowk. An argument ensued, with one of the attackers asking, “Can’t you drive a car properly?” The gang then launched a brutal attack and fatally wounded Jagdish.

Satpur police have detained some suspects in connection with the case and are actively searching for the others involved. It is noteworthy that some of the arrested individuals are already facing murder charges.

The second tragic incident took place around 3:30 pm today in a crowded café at the Pathardigaon area. Rashid Harun Khan, a local youth, was stabbed to death with a sharp weapon, according to sources at the Indiranagar police station. Following the attack, Rashid’s body was taken to the district hospital, where a large crowd of his relatives gathered. Police increased security measures in the area to maintain order.

Both murders have deeply disturbed the city, leading to growing demands from citizens to put an end to the ongoing violence and restore safety in the community. Authorities have assured the public that investigations are underway and efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
