In recent days, there have been rumors circulating that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has put the biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, regarded as the father of Indian cinema, on hold due to dissatisfaction with the script. However, Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, Phalke’s grandson, has stepped forward to set the record straight.

Pusalkar clarified that the reports about re-editing the script are false and confirmed that the project will begin production soon. Speaking to IANS, he said, “The script is finalized, and the project will start soon. Rajkumar Hirani has also shown interest. I believe if such a film is made, it will serve as a role model and help people understand my grandfather’s contribution in detail.”

### Honoring a Legacy

Chandrashekhar Pusalkar fondly recalled his childhood experiences growing up as the grandson of a legendary figure. “When I was young, I came to know that my grandfather was different. His name used to appear in newspapers, and my mother would proudly show it to everyone in our small home,” he shared.

Even though Pusalkar never met Phalke—who passed away in 1944, seven years before Pusalkar was born—his mother often regaled him with stories about the cinematic pioneer.

### Family Anecdotes

Pusalkar also recalled how his mother’s tales came with a strong emphasis on discipline. “She was very particular about discipline and often scolded me, saying, ‘You should have been in your grandfather’s kingdom.’ At times, I used to get angry and wonder who this grandfather was because of whom I kept getting scolded. But later, I became thankful for her words.”

### Remembering Dadasaheb Phalke

For those unfamiliar, Dadasaheb Phalke’s contribution to Indian cinema is monumental. He directed *Raja Harishchandra* in 1913, India’s first full-length feature film, laying the foundation for the Indian film industry that thrives to this day.

With Aamir Khan’s biopic underway, audiences can look forward to an inspiring portrayal of Phalke’s life and legacy, shedding light on the man who pioneered Indian filmmaking.
