As we enter the final months of 2025, several notable game releases are hitting consoles. One surprise among them is *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
This week, Ubisoft announced that it will bring the new Japan-based *Assassin’s Creed* title to Nintendo’s recently launched console. The game is set to arrive on the Switch 2 in early December 2025, with a release date of December 2 confirmed in the announcement.
What’s more, Nintendo revealed that players with save files on other platforms will benefit from cross-progression support. This means if you’ve been playing *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S, you can seamlessly continue your progress on the Switch 2 without starting from scratch.
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* originally launched earlier this year and received decent praise. At Shacknews, writer Aiden O’Brien highlighted its beautifully realized world, engaging combat, and the intriguing contrast between the characters Yasuke and Naoe.
The game proved to be a major success, becoming one of the fastest-selling titles in the *Assassin’s Creed* series by clearing 1 million units sold on its first day of release.
