Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which is successfully marching towards the Rs. 80 crore mark, has been loved for its massy treatment, chartbuster songs and performances. Viewers who flocked to see the Diwali release were pleasantly surprised to see Abhishek Bachchan being thanked in the opening disclaimer. Many assumed that the dashing, talented performer would have a cameo in the film, but, of course, that was not the case. Bollywood Hungama has now found the real reason behind Abhishek’s mention under ‘Special Thanks’. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’s story was written many years ago. At one point, it was to be directed by the late Nishikant Kamat of Drishyam (2015) and Force (2011) fame. And Abhishek Bachchan was to play the lead role. Milap Zaveri and Mushtaq Sheikh had written the story and screenplay, while Milap had written the dialogues.”The source continued, “However, due to certain reasons, the film never got made. After so many years, Milap Zaveri decided to revive the project and, this time, also take over as the director. He asked Abhishek Bachchan for his approval to go ahead with the film. Abhishek was more than happy with Milap’s decision. He graciously allowed him to proceed with Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat and also wished him luck. This is the reason why Abhishek was thanked.”Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa and is the story of a politician who falls in love with a film heroine. Trouble arises when she doesn’t reciprocate his love and he refuses to acknowledge the same. The film successfully made the comeback of Milap Zaveri and also made it clear that the re-release super-success of Harshvardhan’s 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam was not a fluke. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat: Harshvardhan Rane scene goes viral for “shirt-over-dressing” goof-up; doctor roast it on social media
Harshvardhan Rane, currently enjoying box office success with his romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, has unexpectedly become the centre of a social media debate and this time, it’s not for his performance. A scene from the Milap Zaveri directorial has caught the attention of netizens and even medical professionals, leading to a wave of memes, criticisms and light-hearted trolling. The moment under scrutiny appears in a sequence where Rane’s character sustains a bullet injury to his arm. While the narrative intends to depict the urgency of medical care, viewers were quick to point out a glaring continuity error: the dressing for the wound is applied over the actor’s shirt instead of on the skin. A doctor, who stumbled upon the clip, shared it on X (formerly Twitter) with a sarcastic caption that read, “Bollywood doctors are soo advanced. Shirt ke upper dressing.”The post quickly gained traction, and social media users wasted no time turning the clip into meme material. Comments ranged from snarky to outright hilarious, with one user writing, “Maybe they couldn’t afford to tear that shirt,” while another joked, “They don’t use two brain cells.” Some others added to the humour with quips like “Sare COVID me pass out huye hai (they all passed out in COVID),” “Mashoor Gulati is their doctor,” and “Everything is possible in love and Bollywood.” A particularly popular comment read, “Even his shirt got hit by the bullet.”Bollywood Doctors are soo advanced. The film, described as an intense romantic drama, features Sonam Bajwa alongside Harshvardhan Rane. Directed by Milap Zaveri and written by Zaveri and Mushtaq Shiekh, the project is backed by Desi Movies Factory. Released on 21 October 2025 during the Diwali weekend, it faced competition from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe title Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. While the blooper has triggered online amusement, it hasn’t dampened the film’s commercial run. For now, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is trending both for its box office performance and for a moment of unintended comedy that the internet refuses to let go. EXCLUSIVE: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is FIRST Diwali release in 22 years to get ‘A’ rating; CBFC replaces ‘Raavan’ with ‘villain’, ‘maal’ with ‘ladki’
Diwali usually brings family entertainers, but Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat takes a bold turn. The film has been certified ‘A’. With recent adult-rated hits like Animal (2023), Coolie (2025) etc., proving that an ‘A’ tag doesn’t stop box office success, this intense love story is ready to make its mark amid the festive fireworks. Despite the ‘A’ rating, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) requested six modifications from the makers of the romantic saga. A 2-minute 12-second shot was asked to be modified. The details of the shot aren’t specified in the cut list. A 1-second visual of Mantralaya was asked to be removed. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat also suffered audio cuts. The dialogue ‘sleep with her’ was asked to be removed. At two places, ‘Raavan’ was replaced with ‘villain’. The CBFC’s Examining Committee, in fact, asked the makers to remove all the dialogue belonging to the epic Ramayana. Lastly, ‘maal’ was replaced with ‘ladki’. Once these changes were made, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was passed with an ‘A’ certificate on October 16. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 140. 17 minutes. In other words, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is 2 hours 20 minutes and 17 minutes long. Directed by Milap Zaveri, it stars Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa. Interestingly, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is the first Diwali release in 22 long years to be A-rated. The last time this occurred was during Diwali 2003. Four films were released in the festival week that year the period drama Pinjar, Govinda’s comic caper Raja Bhaiya, Tanishaa Mukherji’s horror flick Sssshhh and Vikram Bhatt’s thriller Inteha. The last two were passed with ‘A’ rating by the CBFC. A year prior, in 2002, Annarth, starring Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Vinod Kambli and others, was given an adults-only rating. In 2001, Kamal Haasan’s ambitious venture Aalavandhan, which was released in Hindi as Abhay, was also meant only for adults. In 1999, the A-rated Shool, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon with a special appearance by Shilpa Shetty, was a Diwali release and it clashed with Hum Saath Saath Hain.
