Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has recently spoken out against the circulation of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos depicting him in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that these apparent film trailers are fake and created using AI technology.
**Fake AI Videos Spark Concern**
In his statement on X, Akshay Kumar addressed the misleading content, saying, “I have recently come across some AI-generated videos of a film trailer showing me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to clarify that all such videos are fake and created using AI. What’s worse, some news channels decide to pick these up as ‘news’ without even verifying if these are real or morphed.”
**Call for Responsible Reporting**
Kumar further appealed to media houses and fans to exercise caution while engaging with digital content. He stressed the importance of fact-checking in this era of rapidly spreading AI-manipulated videos. “In today’s time, when misleading content is being produced at great speed through manipulative AI, I sincerely request media houses to verify and report only after authenticating the information,” he urged.
This incident highlights the growing challenge posed by AI-generated media, which blurs the line between authentic and fabricated content, making it increasingly difficult for audiences and journalists alike to discern the truth.
