Isobel Crosswhite came off the bench to score a career-high 25 points as the Dominican University women’s basketball team rolled to a 94-64 road win against Chaminade on Saturday night. Crosswhite made 9 of her 13 shots and went 7 for 8 from the free-throw line for the Penguins (13-3, 7-3 PacWest), who outscored the Silverswords (0-12, 0-8) in every quarter.
Mahliya Wilson added 19 points for Dominican, which also got 15 points from Keyonee Neal and 11 from Kaylyn Buchanon.
**Men’s Basketball**
Dominican trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half but a late rally came up short in an 85-83 road loss to Chaminade on Saturday night.
The Penguins trailed by 10 with 2 minutes, 11 seconds remaining before putting together a late surge. Dominican (9-7, 4-6) pulled to within 81-78 on a free throw by Stephen Ransom with 58 seconds left, then to within 83-80 on a layup by Darius Best with 14 seconds remaining.
Chaminade (9-5, 7-1) made two free throws before Mo Toure hit a 3-pointer at the horn for the final margin.
Best scored a game-high 24 points and Nick Medeiros added 14 points for the Penguins.
