There were plenty of praises sung for Team Cherry’s *Hollow Knight: Silksong* in 2025. While the game received mountains of recognition, it didn’t land the Game of the Year title at many events or publications. That changed, however, when it secured the Steam Awards Game of the Year 2025.
*Hollow Knight: Silksong* won the top prize at the Steam Awards with millions of votes from fans, surpassing other formidable contenders. The Steam Awards 2025 results were announced last week following an extensive period of user voting.
By the deadline, the other finalists for the 2025 Game of the Year Steam Award included *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, *ARC Raiders*, *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, and *Dispatch* — the Shacknews Game of the Year 2025. When the dust settled, it was *Silksong* that emerged victorious.
The Steam Awards featured many other honors and accolades in 2025. *Hades 2* from Supergiant Games, which came out of early access during the year, took home the award for Best Game on Steam Deck. Meanwhile, *Silent Hill f* won for Outstanding Visual Style.
*ARC Raiders* received recognition for Most Innovative Gameplay, and *Clair Obscur*’s music was once again celebrated, earning the award for Best Soundtrack.
Overall, the 2025 Steam Awards highlighted a diverse range of standout games across multiple categories, with *Hollow Knight: Silksong* taking the crown as the fan favorite Game of the Year.
