Ellory Anne Bauersfeld, a senior from Loveland High School, has been selected as Ms. Loveland Valentine 2026. Bauersfeld, a frequent volunteer whose community work includes organizations like the Loveland Public Library and Hearts and Horses, also organized a “Cupid Crew” earlier this year that brought roses and good company to senior citizens on Valentine’s Day. Bauersfeld will have plenty more opportunities to spread Valentine’s Day cheer in her new role. Miss Loveland Valentine serves as an ambassador for Loveland each year, hosting the Loveland Sweetheart Festival and addressing both state legislators and the governor, always accompanied by the chaperone Norma Jean Goodheart. “This has been a wonderful experience, and I’m truly so honored to be named the next Miss Loveland Valentine,” Bauersfeld said, adding that she was unconcerned about her ability to handle the responsibilities her new position entails. “There’s always an element of intimidation, but it’s nothing that I won’t be able to handle with the support system that I have. I’m just so excited for the challenges and experiences to come,” she said. First and foremost in that support system, she said, is her family, which includes her mother, Diane Bauersfeld, and her older brother Egan, who has found his own successes, being named a Boettcher Scholar last spring. “We’ve been really fortunate in both our son and daughter,” Bauersfeld’s mother said. “They are go-getters, and that’s something intrinsic to them. We developed it, we guide them, but it’s their drive. It’s easy to give back to a community that’s given so much. It’s a charmed life to grow up in Loveland, Colorado. Both kids were born and raised here, and it is an idyllic childhood. Every direction you turn, there are people there to help and support.” Candidates for Miss Loveland Valentine eight this year are put through a “boot camp” that prepares them for the role of Miss Valentine, according to Mindy McCloughan, president and CEO of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, one of the two sponsors of the Miss Valentine program, alongside the Loveland Thompson Valley Rotary Club. After that, selected candidates submit essays, and Thursday morning were subjected to interviews with a panel of judges, with the process concluding with a public speech at a luncheon held at the newly refurbished Pulliam Community Building, focused on each individual’s relationship to Loveland. Bauersfeld’s speech pointed to that same community that her mother referenced. “Little did I know, when I was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado, the adventures I would experience, the opportunities I would be given, and the genuine kindness that I would be shown,” she said.
