Funding Radar: Belmont Forum invests in ocean research

The Belmont Forum, a partnership of funding agencies, international scientific councils and regional consortia supporting global environmental change research, is investing in transdisciplinary projects that tackle pressing global ocean challenges. The call seeks to coordinate actions and projects through a transdisciplinary approach, “fostering co-creation, co-design and co-implementation” of innovative solutions, the call text says. These should address global environmental challenges related to the ocean and its biodiversity. Eligible projects must focus on research areas including biodiversity conservation and nature-based solutions, interactions between the ocean, biodiversity and climate, and nature futures, ocean governance, and ethics for sustainability. To meet the call’s minimum transdisciplinary requirements, consortia must include at least three partners,.
