Pokémon Pokopia Revealed with Official Release Date Set for March 5, 2026
Back in September 2025, Nintendo unveiled Pokémon Pokopia, marking the franchise’s first foray into lifestyle simulation games. Originally slated for a 2026 release window, Nintendo has now announced a specific launch date: March 5, 2026.
The announcement came via a post on X, where Nintendo confirmed that Pokémon Pokopia will be available exclusively on the upcoming Switch 2 console. While no new trailers, screenshots, or gameplay details were shared at this time, fans can look forward to the game arriving in early March.
In Pokémon Pokopia, players take on the role of Ditto, the iconic shapeshifting Pokémon. Although Ditto assumes the form of a human-like character, it harnesses its unique ability to mimic various Pokémon to cultivate the land, grow crops, and build structures. This innovative gameplay mechanic sets Pokémon Pokopia apart as a fresh and intriguing addition to the Pokémon universe.
The game was originally revealed during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct and is being developed by Koei Tecmo. As a Switch 2 exclusive, Pokémon Pokopia is poised to leverage the new hardware capabilities to enhance the player experience.
Pokémon Pokopia joins a lineup of major titles set for release in March 2026, including 007 First Light and Saros. With 2026 marking the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise in February, it’s shaping up to be a landmark year for fans worldwide.
