A popular former WWE Superstar recently shocked everyone by refusing to put over their opponent in AEW. The latest reports have shed light on the backstage reaction to the situation.
The name in question is Nixon Newell, formerly known as Tegan Nox. Tegan Nox was a prominent figure in WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, and later wrestled on the company’s main roster from 2021 to 2024. She was released from WWE in November last year. Since then, she has been performing on the independent circuit.
On November 1, 2025, Nox made her AEW in-ring debut under the ring name Nixon Newell, teaming up with her tag team partner, Miranda Alize. The duo lost their debut match against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.
According to a recent report by PWInsider, Newell and Alize were scheduled to face Anna Jay and Tay Melo in a Tag Team Match on the latest edition of AEW Collision. However, they reportedly walked out just one hour before the match, allegedly because they didn’t want to suffer another loss. As a result, they were replaced by Hyan and Maya World.
The latest report from Fightful reveals that Miranda Alize was more vocal about this backstage situation than Nixon Newell. The report also highlighted that AEW stars who personally know the duo believe they should have handled the situation more professionally. Many backstage stars were reportedly shocked to learn that Newell took such a stance. It is important to note that neither Alize nor Newell is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling.
### Miranda Alize Responds Following AEW Walkout
Like Nixon Newell (Tegan Nox), Miranda Alize is also a former WWE Superstar. She wrestled in WWE in 2017 under the ring name Miranda Salinas. Recently, Alize took to X (formerly Twitter) to send a message following their walkout from AEW.
She wrote, “We have SOOOOOOOO much to say .,” but did not disclose the real reason behind their decision to leave.
It remains to be seen what former WWE stars Miranda Alize and Nixon Newell will reveal about the situation in the coming days. Wrestling fans and insiders alike are keenly waiting for their side of the story.
