FromSoftware has announced that the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition has been delayed to 2026. The studio made this decision to focus on improving the game’s performance on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
The delay was confirmed through a statement shared on X by FromSoftware. Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was initially revealed during the Switch 2 Direct presentation in April. Players had the opportunity to try the game at Gamescom in August, where several reported notably poor performance on the Switch 2 version.
Addressing these concerns, FromSoftware explicitly cited the need for performance improvements as the primary reason behind the delay. The extra development time will allow the studio to enhance the gameplay experience and ensure the game runs smoothly on Nintendo’s new hardware.
