In 2013, Arshad Warsi starred in *Jolly LLB*, a movie that turned out to be a surprise hit at the box office. The makers decided to create a franchise, but for the sequel, they brought in Akshay Kumar as the new lead. The 2017 release *Jolly LLB 2* impressed audiences and critics alike, performing well commercially.
Now, the third installment, *Jolly LLB 3*, has hit the big screens as of September 19, 2025. The teaser and trailer had already set high expectations. So, is the movie worth your time and money? Read on to find out.

### Plot Overview
The film revolves around two advocates who share the same name — Jolly number 1 (Arshad Warsi) and Jolly number 2 (Akshay Kumar). Both have chambers outside a court in Delhi, leading to constant confusion and rivalry between them.
Janaki (Seema Biswas), an elderly woman from Paursal, Bikaner, approaches Delhi to file a petition against the Imperial Group of Industries, accusing them of fraudulently acquiring her land. Jolly number 1 takes up her case, while Jolly number 2 represents the Imperial Group in court. Presiding over the case is Judge Sundar Lal Tripathi (Saurabh Shukla). With these three characters intertwined in the courtroom, chaos is inevitable.
*Jolly LLB 3* is inspired by a real-life incident that took place in 2011 in Bhatta Paursal. The film opens with a disclaimer stating that while it draws from true events, cinematic liberties have been taken.

### Direction and Screenplay
Subhash Kapoor returns as both writer and director, having helmed the first two installments as well.
The first 30 minutes of *Jolly LLB 3* are strongly engaging. The buildup is compelling, and the banter between the two Jollys provides plenty of laughs. However, as the film ventures into flashback sequences, the drama tends to lose its grip, failing to keep the audience fully hooked.
The interval point adds some intrigue, and the second half picks up pace. There are several hilarious moments, and the last 30-40 minutes stand out with some memorable, clap-worthy scenes and dialogues — especially during the climax.

### What Works and What Doesn’t
Unfortunately, *Jolly LLB 3* doesn’t elevate the franchise to a new level. Franchise sequels generally carry the expectation of surpassing their predecessors, but this instalment falls short in that regard.
The writing is not as strong as before. The riveting courtroom arguments that defined the first two films — between Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani in *Jolly LLB* and Akshay Kumar and Annu Kapoor in *Jolly LLB 2* — are noticeably missing here. Both earlier films also featured big twists at the climax, which *Jolly LLB 3* lacks.

### Performances
Akshay Kumar as Jolly number 2 steals the show with an impressive performance. His comic timing is spot-on, eliciting plenty of laughs. Even when the writing falters, Akshay’s screen presence helps elevate the scenes. After *Kesari Chapter 2*, this film is another treat for his fans.
Arshad Warsi, playing Jolly number 1, delivers a good performance and shines in his scenes. However, his screen time is noticeably less than Akshay’s, which may disappoint some viewers.
Saurabh Shukla is the true show-stealer. Given some of the best scenes, he nails every moment with ease.
It’s great to see Amrita Rao back on the big screen after a long hiatus, but both she and Huma Qureshi have limited scope in the film. Gajraj Rao and Ram Kapoor perform well in their respective roles, and Seema Biswas brings the necessary emotional depth to the film.

### Music
The soundtrack of *Jolly LLB 3* is decent. Most songs serve as background scores and complement the film’s theme effectively.
—
### Final Verdict
Overall, *Jolly LLB 3* offers laughs in bits and pieces and has its share of entertaining moments but fails to take the franchise forward significantly. However, for Akshay Kumar fans, this movie remains a must-watch.
