Newly constructed condominium towers now line the streets of the area, home to many young families seeking a fresh start. However, despite the promise of tranquility, residents say their peace has been shattered by the roar of motorcycles that echo through their rooms—even with the windows closed.
A male resident who recorded a video of the noise described the situation as becoming unbearable, especially late at night. “Around 11 p.m. or midnight, when we’re trying to sleep, the sound is so loud even the children can’t fall asleep. Sometimes the noise wakes us up in the middle of the night,” he said.
Measurements taken at the intersection during nighttime revealed sound levels exceeding 80 decibels—roughly the same volume as inside a subway train. This noise level is loud enough to make normal conversation difficult without shouting.
Police have acknowledged the problem, stating they receive frequent complaints about the disturbances and have increased patrols in the area. But why do so many motorcyclists converge in this particular spot?
Following the riders, it became clear their destination was the parking lot of a nearby convenience store. When asked about the gatherings, one rider explained, “Everyone finishes work and meets up here before heading out. Considering where everyone lives, this convenience store is a good spot—it’s near a gas station, so we can fill up before going.”
Regarding residents’ complaints about the noise, the rider expressed frustration over the stigma faced by motorcyclists. “It’s frustrating to have all bikers labeled as bad. Of course, everyone should follow proper manners,” he said.
As the interview continued, a police car arrived, prompting the group to leave the parking lot.
Residents emphasize that they do not wish to ban motorcycles entirely but hope riders will observe basic etiquette so that both sides can coexist peacefully. “If they’d just ride normally, we wouldn’t object to their hobby. We just want our children to sleep and to spend peaceful nights,” said the resident who filmed the video.
