MANILA, Philippines – Alex Eala bowed out of the 2025 Wuhan Open qualifiers after a hard-fought match against Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima. The young Filipino talent lost 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the first round on Saturday.
Eala showed resilience by forcing a deciding set but fell behind 0-3 early in the final set and was unable to mount a comeback. This loss means she failed to advance further in the third stop of her Asian swing.
