Ryan Routh Found Guilty Of 2024 Assassination Attempt On Trump

**Ryan Routh Found Guilty of Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump at Golf Club**

Ryan Routh, 59, was found guilty on all charges related to his attempt to kill Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The incident occurred two months before Trump secured his second presidency. The verdict was announced on Tuesday after a federal trial held in Fort Pierce, Florida, where Routh represented himself.

According to CNN, Routh faced five charges, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Authorities revealed that Routh had created a “sniper’s nest” near the sixth green of the golf course but never actually fired a shot at Trump. The trial included nearly two weeks of testimony and hundreds of exhibits. The final witness provided a detailed account of how Routh allegedly stalked Trump and gathered both physical and electronic evidence.

Prosecutors stated that Routh purchased a military-grade weapon, tracked Trump’s movements, and used a dozen burner phones as part of a politically motivated assassination plot. After about three hours of deliberation, the jury delivered their guilty verdict.

Following the announcement, Trump took to Truth Social to congratulate the legal teams involved. He wrote, “Congratulations to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and the entire DOJ team on the conviction, in Florida, of the person who attempted an assassination on my life.”

Trump praised the handling of the trial, thanking the judge and jury for their professionalism and patience. He described Routh as “an evil man with an evil intention” and acknowledged the efforts of the Secret Service, Florida law enforcement, and a vigilant individual who helped identify and track Routh immediately after the incident. Trump called it “a very big moment for JUSTICE IN AMERICA!”

Shortly after the verdict was read, Routh reportedly attempted to stab himself in the neck with a pen, but authorities intervened and prevented him from doing so. Additionally, Routh’s daughter had an emotional outburst in the courtroom.

Routh’s assassination attempt took place on September 15, 2024, just nine weeks after another assassination attempt on Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In that earlier incident, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks fired eight shots at Trump, with one bullet grazing the former president’s ear, before being neutralized by Secret Service counter-snipers, as reported by The Guardian.

This conviction marks a significant moment in the ongoing protection of national leaders and highlights the seriousness of threats against public officials.
