I read with disgust the city of Santa Clarita’s “serious concerns regarding the state Judicial Council plan for an eight-story courthouse” and their (Nov. 21) “call to action.” Funny that the city doesn’t appear to care that an approximately five-story cathedral is proposed in the middle of Placerita Canyon, despite the special standards granted to maintain a rural and equestrian lifestyle within the canyon. The Master’s University (is) buying up homes to house students, increasing traffic and changing the quality of life for the residents. But by all means, City Council, protest the courthouse as “direct conflict with the community and economic characteristics within that corridor,” as it suits you. Asking again, who do you represent?
