COLLEGE PARK, Md. Michigan football will be down a starting linebacker for today’s game against Maryland. Senior Ernest Hausmann has been ruled for the Saturday afternoon matinee here at SECU Stadium (4 p. m., Big Ten Network), leaving the Wolverines down one of their key tentpoles on defense in a must-win game. Meanwhile, reserve linebacker Cole Sullivan, sidelined for the last two games with a shoulder injury, is off the pregame player availability report submitted to the Big Ten. Look for Jimmy Rolder and Sullivan to see playing time alongside Jaishawn Barham at the inside linebacker position. Wide receiver Semaj Morgan, demoted from his punt returning duties this week, has also been ruled out for today’s game. He joins safety Rod Moore, running back Justice Haynes, offensive tackle Evan Link and tight end Hogan Hansen as unavailable. Running back Jordan Marshall, who suffered a shoulder injury in the win over Northwestern last week, is officially listed as questionable. Expect him to be a game-time decision, and his availability could determine Michigan’s game-plan against the flailing Terrapins, losers of six straight. Michigan (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten) needs a win to stay in contention for the Big Ten title race and College Football Playoff. The Wolverines were ranked 18th in this week’s CFP rankings, and will certainly need two more victories, including a win over No. 1 Ohio State, to make a case for a playoff spot. The Wolverines are currently 14-point favorites according to oddsmakers. Michigan’s pregame player availability report: Out WR Semaj Morgan, LB Ernest Hausmann, DB Rod Moore, RB Justice Haynes, WR Joe Taylor, OL Evan Link, TE Hogan Hansen Questionable RB Jordan Marshall Out for season WR I’Marion Stewart, RB Donovan Johnson, LB Jaydon Hood, OL Andrew Babalola, EDGE Devon Baxter, WR C.
