Three Kidnap Suspects Apprehended In Nasarawa, Locally Made Rifle Recovered

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspected kidnappers allegedly involved in the abduction of Miss Favour Francis of Ombi Anzaku. The incident occurred in Lafia Local Government Area, prompting swift action from security operatives to apprehend those connected to the crime.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday. He noted that the suspects were apprehended through the combined efforts of police operatives and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).

According to Nansel, the operation began after the VGN Chairman of Ambana Village arrested and handed over two suspects, Dahiru Aliyu and Sayyadi Abubakar, to the police. He stated that the arrest was in connection with the abduction that occurred on October 3 at about 10 p.m.

The suspect later led operatives to the location where their locally made rifle, five live cartridges, and the knife used in stabbing the victim were hidden.

Nansel further revealed that two of the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.

Commending the efforts of both the police and the vigilante group, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed, said, “The success of this operation underscores the importance of community collaboration in tackling criminal activities. I urge residents to continue providing credible information to help rid the state of crime.”

He assured that the police would sustain the momentum in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Nasarawa State.
