**Shweta Tripathi Begins Shooting for ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ in Varanasi**

Actor Shweta Tripathi has commenced shooting for *Mirzapur: The Film* in Varanasi, according to Mid-Day. The film version of the popular Prime Video web series brings back the beloved characters and familiar settings, with Tripathi reprising her role as Golu Gupta.
Speaking about her character’s deep connection to Varanasi, Tripathi described the city as her “second home.” She shared, “So much of Golu’s journey, her transformation, her pain and strength are rooted in this city.” She further depicted Golu as “a companion who has lived many lives through the seasons,” highlighting the emotional depth her character embodies.
Tripathi’s bond with Varanasi extends beyond *Mirzapur*. Reflecting on her career, she said, “So many of my milestones are connected to this city. From *Masaan* to *Mirzapur*’s first and second seasons, from *Escaype Live* to *Kaalkoot*, every project here has given me something unforgettable.” This strong association enriches her portrayal and lends authenticity to the character.
The film is being directed by Gurmmeet Singh and stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Rasika Dugal alongside Shweta Tripathi. Having played Golu since the series premiered in 2018, Tripathi finds the transition to the big screen both challenging and rewarding. “To bring her to the big screen is both challenging and rewarding because the stakes feel higher not just for her but for the world of *Mirzapur* itself. Doing that in Varanasi, where it all began, feels right,” she remarked.
