Many fans would give an arm and a leg to see Mega Man make a proper return to regular activity. Unfortunately, the Blue Bomber has largely been relegated to greatest hits collections and remasters in recent years, leaving longtime supporters yearning for something new.
However, there could be some good news for fans of Mega Man and other underserved Capcom franchises in the foreseeable future. In its recent annual financial report, Capcom Chief Operations Officer (COO) Haruhiro Tsujimoto shared that the company wants to grow its release pipeline and put out “new releases, remakes, and ports of titles” in its Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney series.
Tsujimoto elaborated further on this strategy in Capcom’s annual Integrated Report for 2025. He addressed not only Capcom’s more active IPs, but specifically mentioned Devil May Cry, Ace Attorney, and Mega Man. According to Tsujimoto, the company remains interested in pursuing new projects across these storied franchises as it aims to expand its yearly release schedule.
Capcom COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto’s full comments regarding new projects in these blockbuster series can be read below.
For context, the last major new game in any of these series was Devil May Cry 5, which originally released in 2019. Meanwhile, Mega Man’s last mainline entry debuted in 2018, and the last new main Ace Attorney title was released in 2017. Both Mega Man and Ace Attorney have since seen several collections released, with the highly anticipated Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection scheduled to arrive in 2026.
Stay tuned for more updates, as Capcom looks set to revisit and possibly revitalize some of its most beloved franchises in the coming years.
