According to a source who spoke with Bollywood Hungama, “The makers of Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 initially asked for Rs. 125 crores for the OTT rights, considering the tremendous buzz around the film. They first approached Netflix, which offered Rs. 100 crores. However, Amazon Prime Video came forward with a better deal, offering Rs. 110 crores for the streaming rights. This is how the film secured its place on Prime Video.”
This deal marks the second-highest OTT sale ever for a Kannada film. The top spot remains with **KGF Chapter 2 (2022)**, which fetched over Rs. 300 crores for its digital rights. Interestingly, both the **KGF** and **Kantara** franchises are produced by Hombale Films—a banner that has played a crucial role in bringing Kannada cinema to the global stage through these monumental successes.

The film stars **Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore,** and **Achyuth Kumar** in lead roles.
