DARTMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) — 7NEWS has obtained new surveillance video showing the small plane that crashed on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth on October 13.
The footage captures the single-engine plane taking off from New Bedford Regional Airport that morning. Around 8 a.m., during the morning commute, the plane tragically crashed along the highway, leaving a trail of fire and scattering debris across the area. The accident caused the road to be closed for several hours.
Officials have identified the two people who died in the crash as Thomas Perkins, 68, and his wife Agatha Perkins, 66, both residents of Middletown, Rhode Island. Additionally, one person on the ground was injured as a result of the incident.
