Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr has issued an apology following his heated reaction to being substituted by Xabi Alonso during the 2-1 win over Barcelona. The Brazilian winger explained that his reaction was driven by his passion for the game and promised to continue fighting for the club.

Taking to social media, Vinicius Jr posted an apology, revealing that he has spoken directly to Alonso and also apologised to his teammates and the club’s president. He wrote:

“Today I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico. Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologise again to my teammates, the club, and the president.”

Vinicius Jr added, “Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents. I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.”

**Rivaldo Questions Possible Tension Between Player and Manager**

Barcelona legend Rivaldo weighed in on the situation, questioning whether there might be an issue between Vinicius Jr and Xabi Alonso. He hinted that the coach could be targeting the team’s best player to send a message to others.

“Vini, being the best player in the world last year, might become a target for this. If I can do this with Vini, I can do it with any other player,” said Rivaldo.

**Vinicius Jr’s Reaction on the Pitch**

During the game, Vinicius Jr’s angry reaction was noticeable as he muttered, “I should leave the club” while coming off the pitch. He was substituted in the 72nd minute for Rodrygo.

**Former Real Madrid Star Criticises Vinicius Jr**

Former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes expressed his disappointment with Vinicius Jr’s reaction, calling it disrespectful toward both the manager and his teammates.

“You can be angry, you can show your discontent, and then let your coach know about it the next day,” Morientes said. “I also think it’s a lack of respect for the player who’s coming on, who’s a teammate of yours, not just at Madrid but on the national team as well. And a lack of respect for the fans, the coaching staff, everyone.”

**Playing Time Under Xabi Alonso**

Vinicius Jr has now played the full 90 minutes in just three out of 19 games under Xabi Alonso. Despite his limited playing time, the Brazilian remains determined to prove his worth and contribute to Real Madrid’s success.
