**Kamala Harris Keeps Door Open for 2028 Presidential Run**
WASHINGTON — Kamala Harris isn’t ruling out another bid for the White House. In a recent interview with the BBC, posted Saturday, the former vice president expressed optimism about the prospect of a woman becoming president in the near future — and hinted that it could “possibly” be her.
“I am not done,” Harris stated, signaling that a 2028 presidential campaign remains a possibility, though she has not yet made a final decision.
Addressing questions about her chances, Harris dismissed the notion that she would face steep odds. “I have lived my entire career a life of service and it’s in my bones. And there are many ways to serve,” she said. “I’ve never listened to polls.”
Harris has been active in giving interviews following the September release of her book, *107 Days*, which reflects on her experience stepping in as the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee after then-President Joe Biden withdrew from the race. Ultimately, she lost the election to Republican President Donald Trump.
In a separate interview with The Associated Press last week, Harris, 60, reiterated that running again in 2028 is still an option. She emphasized her role as a leader within the Democratic Party, particularly in efforts to oppose Trump and prepare for the crucial 2026 midterm elections.
Meanwhile, the race for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination is already beginning to take shape, with political maneuvering unfolding earlier than usual. Several potential candidates are actively engaging voters in key states. These include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, term-limited Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and California Rep. Ro Khanna.
As the field develops, upwards of 30 high-profile Democrats could ultimately enter the primary, setting the stage for a competitive and closely watched contest in the years ahead.
