Despite not playing this season due to his injury, Tyrese Haliburton’s fiancée, Jade, was excited about the Indiana Pacers’ season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder. She shared her experience from the game on her Instagram Stories, posting a video of the Jumbotron featuring Haliburton during the hype video package. Over the clip, she wrote, “So back!!!”
It’s great to see Haliburton and his fiancée continuing to support the Pacers as he rehabs his ruptured Achilles tendon. Recently, Haliburton revealed that he has “started running, jumping, [and] doing all the little things,” signaling progress in his recovery.
Tyrese Haliburton missed the Pacers’ season opener against the Thunder due to his injury. Despite his absence, the Pacers put up a strong fight, pushing the game to double overtime. Haliburton was in attendance, cheering on his teammates, but his support wasn’t enough to secure the win.
Last year’s NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, delivered a dominant performance, scoring 55 points in the overtime victory. He played 45 minutes, shooting 15-for-31 from the field, and made an impressive 23 out of 26 free throws.
On the Pacers’ side, Bennedict Mathurin and Pascal Siakam combined for 68 points in the loss. Obi Toppin contributed 20 points off the bench, while Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker added 15 and 13 points, respectively.
The season opener was an NBA Finals rematch between the Pacers and the Thunder. Haliburton played a major role in getting the Pacers to the Finals last year but unfortunately ruptured his Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the series. Although the Pacers tried to rally without him, the Thunder proved too strong to overcome, forcing Haliburton to watch from the sidelines.
Haliburton is expected to miss the entire 2025-26 season as well. However, fans remain hopeful that he will make a full recovery and return for the 2026-27 season.
During the 2024-25 campaign, Haliburton had one of his best NBA seasons, averaging 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game in the regular season. Since being traded to Indiana, he has become a star and a key player for the Pacers.
Haliburton began his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings, where he played nearly two seasons before the trade brought him to Indiana.
