“He can punch” – Jonathan Haggerty says Takeru needs to be careful of Denis Puric’s power

Reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty of the United Kingdom is keeping a close eye on potential foes competing at the upcoming ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri event later this year. Among the fights scheduled for the card, one matchup in particular has caught his attention, as well as the interest of fans around the world.

Set for ONE 173 is an exciting flyweight kickboxing showdown between Japan’s “Natural Born Krusher” Takeru Segawa and Canadian-Bosnian veteran Denis “The Bosnian Menace” Puric. While Takeru enters the fight as the hometown favorite, Haggerty warns the Japanese star not to underestimate Puric, who is very much a live challenger.

In a recent interview with South China Morning Post, “The General” shared his thoughts:

> “He can punch. He knows how to punch. I believe he gave Rodtang a hard fight. I think I was ringside for that one. I’ve seen a few of his fights — he can punch. So Takeru needs to be careful. I’m 50/50 on that one, I’ll be honest.”

Much is at stake for both Takeru and Puric when they lock horns in their anticipated three-round banger at ONE 173. Fans can expect a thrilling contest while Haggerty watches intently from the sidelines.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see Takeru Segawa back in action. Meanwhile, Jonathan Haggerty will also be competing on the same card.
