Elden Ring’s Switch 2 launch has been delayed

FromSoftware has announced a delay for the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, pushing it back to 2026. The studio made this decision to focus on improving the game’s performance on Nintendo’s upcoming console.

The delay was confirmed in an official statement shared by FromSoftware on X. Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was initially revealed during the Switch 2 Direct presentation in April, generating significant excitement among fans.

The game was later showcased at Gamescom in August, where some players experienced notably poor performance on the Switch 2 version. Addressing these concerns, FromSoftware cited the need for performance enhancements as the primary reason behind the postponement.

By taking extra time to optimize the game, the studio aims to deliver a smoother and more enjoyable experience for players on Nintendo’s new platform. Fans can look forward to Elden Ring Tarnished Edition when it launches in 2026.
