1974 Honda CB750 at No Reserve

This 1974 Honda CB750 spent over two decades in storage before being recommissioned around 2014. Work conducted under previous ownership included replacing the fuel tank, rebuilding the four Keihin carburetors, and installing a Dynatek ignition system along with a MAC four-into-one exhaust system.

Finished in striking red and black, this classic bike is powered by an air-cooled 736cc SOHC inline-four engine paired with a five-speed transmission. It features an electric starter, a front disc brake, 19″ front and 18″ rear wire-spoke wheels, a reproduction two-up seat, folding passenger foot pegs, chrome-finished fenders, as well as both center and side stands.

The seller acquired the bike via Bring a Trailer (BaT) in August 2024. Since then, work under current ownership has included installing a reproduction two-up seat with a passenger grab strap, along with changing the battery, drive chain, and tires.

This CB750K3 is offered at no reserve and comes with a service summary, repair manuals, a folder containing receipts and resources, plus a clean California title in the seller’s name. The replacement fuel tank was repainted red in 2023 and is complemented by matching black side covers and chrome-finished fenders. While the fuel tank shows some blemishes, the overall presentation remains impressive.

Additional features include a rear grab bar, folding passenger foot pegs, and both center and side stands. The wire-spoke rims are chrome-finished, measuring 19″ up front and 18″ at the rear, and are fitted with Dunlop Gold Seal K70 tires installed under current ownership.

Suspension consists of a conventional telescopic fork with black accordion gaiters up front, paired with dual shocks mounted on the swingarm. Braking performance comes from a front disc and a rear drum brake.

The chrome handlebar is equipped with a pair of round mirrors and mounted to the top triple clamp with a riser that integrates indicator lights. Instrumentation features classic green-dial Nippon Denso gauges, including a 150-mph speedometer and an 8,000 rpm redline tachometer. The five-digit odometer reads 20,000 miles, with approximately 600 miles ridden by the current seller.

Under the hood, the air-cooled 736cc SOHC inline-four engine is fitted with both a kick starter and an electric starter. It uses four Keihin carburetors feeding into a MAC four-into-one exhaust system that has black-finished head pipes and a chrome-finished muffler. The original factory-rated output was 67 horsepower.

A Dynatek Dyna S ignition system was installed in May 2024, at which time spark plugs and ignition wires were also replaced. Additionally, a replacement Duralast Gold battery was fitted during current ownership.

The seller notes that cleaning the carburetors is advisable due to some rideability concerns when the bike is below operating temperature. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via the five-speed transmission and a replacement O-ring drive chain.

Accompanying the bike are repair manuals, spare parts, a comprehensive folder of receipts, and a detailed service summary from previous ownership. This 1974 Honda CB750 offers an excellent opportunity to own a beautifully restored piece of motorcycle history.
