The former AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks, have hinted at a big change following a recent setback. This isn’t the first time the duo has teased a shift in their direction; they made a similar tease after their match at WrestleDream 2025.
Since losing their EVP positions at All In Texas, The Young Bucks—Matthew and Nicholas Jackson—have been on a downward spiral. They’ve struggled to secure major wins and have faced disrespect from AEW management, who have given them funny nicknames and jobber-like entrances.
At WrestleDream 2025, The Bucks faced off against Jurassic Express in a tag team encounter. Despite putting on a great display, Matthew and Nick ultimately fell short and couldn’t secure the victory. After the match, the Don Callis Family appeared and attacked Jurassic Express, while The Bucks quietly walked out of the ring.
Kenny Omega then showed up, attempting to persuade his former stablemates to join him. Although Matt and Nick teased a subtle face turn, they chose to walk away, leaving fans wondering about their next move.
Adding to the intrigue, The Young Bucks once again hinted at going babyface. In a viral backstage clip from their ‘Being The Elite’ (BTE) vlogs, the duo appeared visibly disappointed with their loss. Matt admitted that perhaps they deserved the criticism after another defeat at WrestleDream 2025.
### The Young Bucks Tease The Elite Reunion
Last year, The Young Bucks formed a new Elite faction alongside Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry. However, fans continue to long for the original Elite, featuring The Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Hangman Page.
Recently, speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Matthew Jackson teased the possibility of an OG Elite reunion. He said, “I’m not saying that’s gonna happen, but I think it’d be silly not to do it before we call it quits, before Kenny calls it quits, before Hangman calls it quits. I think that there’s money in it, and I think it would be ridiculous not to revisit it at least one more time.”
For now, fans will have to wait and see when the original Elite will reunite on AEW television.
