Man arrested for killing his father during fight in Northeast Fresno home, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A man has been arrested after Fresno Police say he killed his father during a fight on Thursday night.

Officers were called to a home on North Barton Avenue, near Cedar and Nees avenues, following a report of a disturbance. The caller, later identified as 69-year-old Perry Michael Huffman, stated he had been involved in a fight with his father, 90-year-old Perry Leon Huffman.

Inside the home, officers found the elder man unresponsive on the ground with severe trauma to his body. Medical personnel attempted to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the son peacefully exited the home and was taken into custody. Detectives later determined that he was visiting from out of state.
