**Western Railway Temporarily Suspends Platform Ticket Sales at Four Major Stations Ahead of Diwali 2025**
Ahead of the festive rush during Diwali 2025, Western Railway announced on Monday that it will temporarily halt the sale of platform tickets at four major stations to manage expected crowding.
According to an official statement, the restrictions will be implemented in select major stations within the Mumbai Central Division from October 15 to 31, 2025. This measure aims to ensure smooth passenger movement and maintain safety at busy stations during the high-traffic festive season.
The stations affected by this temporary suspension include Bandra Terminus, Vapi, Udhna, and Surat.
However, exceptions will be made in genuine cases. Individuals assisting senior citizens, women passengers, persons with disabilities (Divyangjan), uneducated passengers, and anyone requiring special care will be allowed access based on need, as stated in the press release.
Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, urged the public to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with staff by adhering to these restrictions. The measures are intended to enhance the safety and comfort of passengers during this busy period.
Western Railway appreciates the cooperation of commuters and requests everyone to follow the guidelines to ensure a safe and hassle-free travel experience this Diwali season.
