Lori Loughlin SPLITS from Mossimo Giannulli after 28-year marriage… as she embraces Anne Heche’s ex-partner

Lori Loughlin has split from husband Mossimo Giannulli after a 28-year marriage. “They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage,” Loughlin’s representative Elizabeth Much told *People*. “There are no legal proceedings at this time.” The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for comment and has yet to hear back.

The split comes after the star was seen apparently being comforted by Anne Heche’s ex-partner and her former co-star James Tupper outside the Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Loughlin starred with Tupper, 60, in the 2023 TV film *Fall Into Winter*. She subsequently appeared in the 2024 movie *A Christmas Blessing* alongside the actor.

The estranged couple was initially indicted in 2019 in connection with allegations they paid admissions fixer Rick Singer $500,000 to arrange for the University of Southern California to recruit their daughters onto the school’s rowing team, despite having no background in the sport.

In May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in the college admission bribery case. Loughlin, a cast member on the hit sitcom *Full House* and its Netflix reboot, received a two-month jail sentence along with a $150,000 fine and 150 hours of community service following the guilty plea.

Loughlin, who played Rebecca “Aunt Becky” Katsopolis on the family comedy, began her sentence at a federal prison in Dublin, California, in October 2020 and was released in December of the same year.

Loughlin’s husband, Giannulli, received a five-month sentence with a $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service. Giannulli began his prison sentence in November 2020 and was transferred to home confinement in April 2021, about a month before his sentence ended.

The celebrity couple was implicated in what was called Operation Varsity Blues—a massive nationwide scandal involving 33 parents. Also notably involved was Emmy-winning actress Felicity Huffman, who served 11 days in custody in 2019 as part of her plea deal in the case.

Prior to the scandal, Loughlin had been active on social media, even giving her followers advice on applying to universities—just days before federal agents arrested her parents for their involvement in the conspiracy. She has since apologized for those comments and returned to social media after a brief hiatus following the scandal’s unraveling in March 2019.

Earlier this year, Loughlin insisted she was a “straight A student” who “worked really hard” in high school, even before her parents paid $500,000 for her to get into the University of Southern California.

Professionally, Loughlin’s legal troubles sidelined her from *Fuller House*’s fifth season. However, she made her return to television in late 2021, appearing in a two-part Christmas special for the series *When Hope Calls*.

She also appeared on her first red carpet since the scandal in June 2022, attending the DesignCare 2022 Gala at RJ’s Place, benefitting the HollyRod Foundation.

In 2024, Loughlin spoofed the legal mishap in an episode of *Curb Your Enthusiasm* alongside Larry David during the sixth episode of the show’s 12th season. She played a fictionalized version of herself, seeking David’s help to rejoin an exclusive golf club after being kicked out following the scandal.

David’s character has second thoughts after Loughlin, an avid golf enthusiast, engages in ruthless tactics once she’s let back into the club. Executive producer Jeff Schaffer told *The Hollywood Reporter*, “We called her manager up, who loved it, and who then talked to Lori, and she said: ‘I’m in, I’m totally game.’ And she was. She was so great. Everything we threw at her, she was game to do. She makes the episode. I’m so glad she wanted to do it.”

In April 2024, Loughlin spoke to *FIRST* magazine about how she handled the fallout of the life-changing series of events. “I try to be a forgiving person,” Loughlin said. “I’m not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone.”

She continued, “We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness, but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too.”

Loughlin shared that her family “wasn’t one to hold grudges,” adding, “I didn’t grow up in a household where if you made a mistake, you weren’t forgiven.”

She stressed, “No one is perfect, we all make mistakes,” and said she “was always told to let stuff go.” She added, “And I think for your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”
