Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently praised India’s robust response to terrorism, affirming that the Indian military successfully achieved all objectives of Operation Sindoor. Emphasizing India’s ongoing fight against cross-border terrorism, he made it clear that the battle will continue unabated.
Addressing a group of soldiers at a military base in Bhuj, Gujarat, ahead of performing the traditional ‘shastra puja’ (worship of weapons) on the occasion of Dussehra, Rajnath Singh detailed key aspects of Operation Sindoor. According to reports by news agency PTI, the Defence Minister stated that during the operation, Pakistan made an unsuccessful attempt to penetrate India’s defence system from Leh to Sir Creek.
“In its retaliatory action, Indian forces completely exposed the Pakistani air defence system,” Rajnath Singh said. “This sent a strong message to the world that Indian forces can inflict heavy losses on Pakistan whenever and wherever they wish.”
Highlighting India’s measured approach during the operation, the Defence Minister underscored that the military action targeted terrorism specifically, not common citizens. “Escalating the situation and starting a war was not the objective of Operation Sindoor,” he noted. “I am happy that Indian forces have successfully achieved all the military objectives of Operation Sindoor. But our fight against terrorism continues,” he added, as cited by news agency ANI.
Earlier last week, Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to the valour of the armed forces during the decommissioning ceremony of the Russian-origin MiG-21 fighter jets at the Chandigarh Air Force Station. “We gathered here for the final operational sortie of the MiG-21. Being amongst you, I have emotions of pride and gratitude,” he expressed, as reported by PTI. He hailed the MiG-21 as a significant contributor to the journey of bravery for India’s air force.
