Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has spoken out against the recent use of artificial intelligence to create videos showing him in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actor clarified that the purported movie trailer circulating online is entirely fake and generated using AI technology.

In his statement, Kumar expressed concern over how some news channels have picked up these AI-created clips as genuine news without verifying their authenticity. He wrote,

> “I have recently come across some AI-generated videos of a film trailer showing me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to clarify that all such videos are fake and created using AI. What’s worse, some news channels decide to pick these up as ‘news’ without even verifying if these are real or morphed.”

The actor further urged media houses to exercise caution and responsibility when reporting such content in the age of rapidly advancing AI technology. Highlighting the challenges posed by manipulative and misleading AI-generated material, Kumar appealed,

> “In today’s time, when misleading content is being produced at great speed through manipulative AI, I sincerely request media houses to verify and report only after authenticating the information.”

This incident underscores the growing difficulty faced by fans and media outlets in distinguishing between genuine videos and AI-manipulated content as such technology becomes more sophisticated and widespread.
