I personally had to load in a total of five times before the mission finally worked for me. Once it did, I saw a waypoint and started receiving instructions. Until then, I was simply wandering the level, killing enemies but unable to make any real progress in the mission.
### What Should Happen When You Load In
When the mission loads correctly, you should see a waypoint guiding you to place three beacons around the enemy base. Additionally, the massive Behemoth walkers in the level should be indestructible at this stage. If neither of these things happens, the mission is bugged, and you’ll need to reload.
Once you see the mission prompt advising you to place the sensor beacons, you’re good to go. Hopefully, the mission will load properly a bit faster for you than it did for me.
### Tips for Later in the Mission
Later in the “Out in the Cold” mission, you will need to use a special Strand gun to kill enemy walkers. Here’s how it works:
– The main fire button shoots a Strand shackle that breaks enemy shields.
– You then need to aim down the sights and use the fire button again to shoot damaging Strand needles.
**Important:** You must kill the walkers using this Strand weapon for their deaths to count toward the mission total. If you don’t, the walkers will keep spawning indefinitely. Keep this in mind to avoid unnecessary frustration.
