“This is f*cking wild”: Dave Smith reacts to Candace Owens’ tweet alleging the Macrons paid for her assassination

Comedian Dave Smith weighed in on a shocking allegation made by conservative commentator Candace Owens, who claimed that French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, had paid for her assassination. Smith reacted on November 22, 2025, after reposting Owens’ tweet. Before sharing her claim, he expressed disbelief and concern, explaining that he hoped the allegation was untrue but warned that targeting Owens would only rally her supporters further. “This is f*cking wild. I’m hoping this isn’t true, but if it is, they should know that taking out Candace Owens will turn all of us into Candace Owens,” Dave Smith wrote as he reposted Owens’ tweet. Owens’ original tweet was also posted on November 22. She began her message by labeling it “URGENT,” before alleging that she had been contacted two days earlier by someone she described as a “high-ranking employee of the French Government.” Owens then emphasized that she had verified this person’s position and their “proximity to the French couple,” and that she considered the information serious enough to reveal publicly “in the event that something happens.” “After determining this person’s position and proximity to the French couple, I have deemed the information they gave me to be credible enough to share publicly in the event that something happens. In short, this person claims that the Macrons have executed upon and paid for my assassination. Yes, you read that correctly,” she wrote. Candace Owens expands on her claims that the Macrons had funded her assassination plot In her November 22 tweet, Candace Owens intensified her explosive allegations against French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, claiming the couple had authorized her assassination. Candace Owens asserted that the Macrons had personally sanctioned a targeted operation. She also expanded the scope of her allegations by introducing claims of foreign involvement. She explained that she had received information suggesting the presence of an international operative within the alleged squad. “More specifically, that the green light was given to a small team in National Gendamarie Intervention Group. I am told there is one Israeli that is on this assasination squad and the plans were formalized,” she wrote. Owens then added that the “high-ranking employee of the French Government” who had contacted her earlier to warn her of Macron’s alleged assassination plot against her had “provided concrete proof” that they “are well placed within the French government apparatus.” “Further to this point, this person claims that Charlie Kirk’s assassin trained with the French legion 13th brigade with multi-state involvement,” Owens added Owens also alleged that journalist Xavier Poussard’s life was “also at risk” and whatever information she was sharing was “deadly serious.” She then added that the “head of state of France apparently” wanted both Poussard and her “dead” and had “authorized professional units to carry this out.” Owens then shifted to a tone of urgency and appeal, asking “every person” who had read her tweet to “RETWEET and share this.” She further added that she was unsure “who in the American government can be trusted,” explaining that her source claimed certain leaders were already aware of the situation. Candace Owens also added that she possessed “more specific information” that was “definitively verifiable,” and indicated that officials could access it “should they care to reach out” to her. The political commentator and podcaster also highlighted the efforts of the French official who had risked their life to warn her, identifying this individual as someone motivated by what she called “the evil of Charlie’s public execution.” “To the brave official in France who did this because they were so moved by the evil of Charlie’s public execution to risk their own life- May God bless you. Truly. Let all be revealed,” Owens wrote The French government has not issued any public response to Owens’ statements. Additionally, no independent evidence has surfaced to substantiate Candace Owens’ claims. Owens herself has not provided any documents or materials to verify the allegations Candace Owens’ accusations against the Macrons came as the couple pursued a defamation lawsuit against her in Delaware, alleging she spread “verifiably false and devastating lies” claiming Brigitte Macron was a transgender woman who assumed her brother’s identity.
