MANILA, Philippines – Collins Akowe put on a dominant show in his debut as host University of Santo Tomas (UST) delivered a commanding performance against the defending champion University of the Philippines (UP), securing an 87-67 victory.

This impressive win introduced a twist into the early title picture of UAAP Season 88 on Sunday.

The recruit from the National University boys program made an immediate impact, posting 29 points and grabbing 17 rebounds to lead UST’s charge.
