### Quest Overview: Broken Monument
To finish the Broken Monument quest, you’ll need to head to the Scrap Yard on Dam Battlegrounds, locate three hidden caches, and extract with their contents. Importantly, everything must be done in a single round—piecemeal attempts won’t count.
If you spawn up north near the Power Generation Complex or Ruby Residences, you’ll have to make your way south past several high-value loot locations. From personal experience, it’s best to tackle this (and other time-sensitive quests) when you have a favorable spawn. This streamlines the process and makes extracting quest-locked items much easier.

### Objectives in Broken Monument
There are four main objectives:
1. **Reach the hallowed grounds by the Scrapyard** (northwestern part of the zone)
2. **Search for a compass near broken-down vehicles**
3. **Search for a video tape near cylindrical containers**
4. **Search for old field rations in the Raider camp**
You’ll need to collect all three quest-specific items, and return to Tian Wen in Speranza. The hand-in happens automatically if you return with all items in your inventory.

### Compass Location (Near Broken-down Vehicles)
The compass is arguably the hardest of the three items to locate. Look for the group of rounded, oblong trucks with a blue broken-down car at one end, plus a pair of overturned cargo containers at the other. The small container with the compass sits between the trucks, the cargo containers, and the blue car.
As a waypoint, remember that the large spherical structure is just south of this objective. There’s also a small container truck cab further south.

### Video Tape Location (Near Cylindrical Containers)
To locate the video tape, head northeast of the broken-down vehicles. You’re searching for two cylindrical containers close to another pair of oblong trucks.
Use the nearby car as a landmark—it’ll sound an alarm if you approach. From the alarm car, go directly east through the opening between the two oblong trucks. The crate containing the video tape is located there.

### Old Field Rations Location (In the Raider Camp)
The crate with the field rations is at the far north end of the Scrapyard. Head into the tubular structure and interact with the crate to collect them. The camp resembles a field depot, minus blue tarps, antennae, or other mechanical markers.
From almost anywhere in the scrapyard, you can spot this camp by heading north from the main area.

### Final Step: Extraction and Quest Turn-in
Once you’ve interacted with each crate and collected the items, you need to extract with all of them in your inventory. If you die, having the items in your safe pouch also counts.
