**Ferrari Chairman John Elkann Urges Drivers to ‘Talk Less and Focus on Driving’ After Brazil GP Disaster**
Ferrari chairman John Elkann has called on Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc to “talk less and focus on driving” following the team’s disastrous performance at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Highlighting the cohesiveness demonstrated by Ferrari’s World Endurance Championship (WEC) team — which recently clinched the 2025 title in Bahrain — Elkann urged the Scuderia’s F1 drivers to adopt a similar team spirit.
At Interlagos on Sunday, both Ferrari drivers failed to finish after incidents left their cars damaged. Charles Leclerc retired early, following a safety car restart on lap 6. As he went three-wide into Turn 1 with Oscar Piastri and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a collision between the latter two sent Antonelli into Leclerc. This caused a puncture in Leclerc’s front left tire, forcing him to limp to a halt at the side of the track.
Lewis Hamilton’s race ended prematurely on lap 39 of 71 due to damage sustained in two separate incidents involving Carlos Sainz and Franco Colapinto on the opening lap. Both drivers expressed their frustration and disappointment in the aftermath.
However, Elkann’s main concern was Ferrari’s recent lack of competitiveness in Formula 1. He reflected on the lessons learned from the WEC success, saying:
*”This is what the result in the WEC taught us. When everyone is together, great things can be achieved. Brazil was a huge disappointment.”*
He continued,
*”In Formula 1, we have mechanics who are always first in making pit stops. The engineers work to improve the car. The rest is not up to par. We have drivers who it is important that they concentrate on driving, that they talk less, and that we have important races ahead of us. It is not impossible to get second place.”*
Elkann concluded,
*”This is the most important message that comes from Bahrain: when Ferrari is a team, we win.”*

**Constructors’ Championship Setback**
The double DNF in Brazil dealt a heavy blow to Ferrari’s position in the Constructors’ Championship. Both Mercedes and Red Bull overtook Ferrari, dropping the Italian team from second to fourth place in the standings.

**Lewis Hamilton Laments ‘Nightmare’ Season with Ferrari**
Lewis Hamilton did not shy away from describing the emotional toll his 2025 campaign with Ferrari has taken. Until now, the seven-time World Champion had managed at least five podium finishes every season of his career. However, with Ferrari, he has gone 21 races without reaching the podium.
Reflecting on the season, Hamilton said,
*”The flip between the dream of driving for this amazing team and then the nightmare of results that we’ve had, the ups and downs, it is challenging. This weekend has been disastrous and disappointing for everyone. I am trying to keep my head above water and remain positive.”*
Ahead of the Brazilian GP, Hamilton emphasized that his primary goal for the year was to help Ferrari maintain second place in the Constructors’ Championship. Unfortunately, Mercedes — trailing Ferrari by just one point — overtook them following a double podium in the Sprint Race and extended their lead to 36 points after securing 2nd and 4th places in the feature race.

As Ferrari works to regroup after Brazil’s setbacks, hopes remain high that the team can recapture the unity and winning formula demonstrated by their WEC counterparts to finish the season strongly.
