Bitwise Asset Management has updated its regulatory filing for a spot Dogecoin ETF, clearing the way for a potential launch before the end of November. According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, who shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), Bitwise removed a “delaying amendment” from its S-1 registration. This change triggers a 20-day automatic approval period under Section 8(a) of the Securities Act, meaning the ETF could take effect without explicit SEC approval unless the agency decides to intervene.
### ETF Structure and Custody Details
The proposed ETF will directly hold Dogecoin (DOGE) as its underlying asset. Coinbase Custody will serve as the crypto custodian, while BNY Mellon will manage the ETF’s cash holdings. The fund is designed to track the CF Dogecoin-Dollar Settlement Price, providing investors with exposure to Dogecoin’s spot market performance.
While the ticker symbol and management fee have not yet been disclosed, the ETF is expected to list on NYSE Arca, one of the major exchanges for crypto-related investment funds.
### Rising Interest in Dogecoin-Based Products
Bitwise’s progress comes on the heels of the REX-Osprey DOGE ETF launch in September 2025. Bloomberg analysts estimate there is a 90% or higher chance that multiple Dogecoin ETFs could begin trading by the end of this year. This optimism is fueled by the SEC’s increasing openness toward digital asset funds and recent approvals of single-asset cryptocurrency products.
### Market Impact and Current DOGE Performance
Despite these promising ETF developments, Dogecoin’s price has weakened recently. Over the past week, the token has fallen approximately 11% and is currently trading at $0.1658 after a modest daily dip.
Market observers note that while regulatory progress is a positive sign for the long-term adoption of Dogecoin, near-term price trends continue to reflect the broader volatility seen across the cryptocurrency sector. Investors should remain cautious as the market adjusts to both regulatory news and ongoing sector dynamics.
